My car, an '03 Nissan Maxima, pulls a little to the left or right. Why is that?

I just bought this used and it pulls slightly either to the left or to the right, noticable while driving at freeway speeds. If I take my hands off the steering wheel, it mostly goes either towards the right or left, but not straight. I got wheel-balancing done on it, but it still pulls, so apparently the wheels are okay. Can it be something related to the steering mechanism?

take your car to like a big o tire and tell them what its doing and they will check it out and tell you whats wrong with and price to fix

also the road crown what side of the road are you on will enhance the pull.also the tire pressure is an easy one make sure they are all the same.most like likely you need an alignment too much too toe in or out.and are your breaks heating up too much, like you have one caliper grabbing too much to one side.what happens when you hit the breaks?does it pull more and to what side?

I would suggest having a mechanic drive it and see if the vehicle has what they call "memory steer". This happens when the bearing plates on the struts start binding up. That can cause what you describe and you say you've had it aligned so I would lean towards memory steer.
