anyone heard of this happening? The windscreen appeared to have pushed out from the inside. It was still intact but fully shattered with no obvious point of impact. Could this have happened due to residual stresses in the glass developed during manufacture and possibly made worse by 3, 40 degree C (>100 degrees F) days in a row?
Has anyone heard of windscreens shattering in postion without being hit by something?
Could this be covered by warranty?

I had a rear window shatter out on my 95 Prizm (this was in '96) while driving. I had the defrost on to melt ice and the entire rear window shattered. My guess was the temperature difference between the air inside the vehicle and the air outside the vehicle were at extreme temperatures.
