on any old atv with stock suspension, can you put much larger suspension in it?

say the stock suspension is 4 inch travel, could you buy some new shocks that are 8 inch travel and install them succesfully?

Depends if the suspension will actually move that much. Also you would have to run your chain real loose and mabey replace the ball joints with ones that can bend more.
