The latest version Audi A1 e-tron is a gasoline-electric dual-mode hybrid. Audi has demonstrated its technology development direction in the future on this car. The fuel consumption of this car is the lowest which is only 1L/100kmand and the carbon emissions is 23g/km. But it has been reported that Audi will cancel the launch of its e-tron electric car program, including the A1 e-tron and A2 e-tron.
The old version of the A1 e-tron uses a rotary engine and motor with 73.7kw power which is installed in the luggage compartment under the floor and at the pure electric mode the mileage is 50km.
The latest E-TRON uses a dual-mode hybrid system. It no longer uses the rotary engine but a 1.5L three-cylinder engine, two motors and a single-speed gearbox. The three-cylinder engine with turbo function has the maximum power output of 95.5kw. A 50kw motor is directly connected to the engine which acts as a boot device and generator. Another motor power is 85kw, which can drive the front wheels independently or together with the engine to power the front wheels. Based on this complex work, the maximum output can be up to 130.5kw and the fastest hundred kilometers is less than nine seconds.
