An engineer weighs a sample of mercury (p =
13.6 x 10^3 kg/m^3) and finds that the weight
of the sample is 7.5 N.
The acceleration of gravity is 9.81 m/s^2 .
What is the sample's volume? Answer in
units of m^3.

Weight = Mass x Gravity

Mass = Density x Volume

So:

Volume = Weight / (Gravity x Density)

V = 7.5N({1kg.m/s^2}/1N) / (9.81m/s^2)(13,600kg/m^3)

V = 5.62 x 10^-5m^3
