what a thief can do with my insurance ID and my car registration?

my car got boken in to the other night, the thief got the insurance and registration card...i already took care of those and got them back(new registration and new set of insurance id card) my wonder is if there is any thing that the thief can do with those? and how can prevent those from happening?

if you canceled the card and re registered you car it should probably keep them from doing anything. might even get them caught.
