What should I do about my tire on my Ford Ranger?

I drive a 2002 Ford Ranger, and I've noticed within the past 2 months or so that my front passenger side tire has been wearing away somewhat. The other 3 seem to be just fine, so it's just this one. I've also notice that the actual tread seems to be ok, it's really only the outside of the tire where the tire brand is located that seems to be disentegrating. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Should I replace the one, or all of them? Or is it really not that much of a big deal? Any tips would be useful! Thanks.

Since you are talking about the sidewall of the tire, I would replace it. Odd that it would be tearing up at that location. The only thing I can figure is that someone is curbing the tire against the curb or possibly you may have oversized the tires and there is not enough clearance between the tire and the fenders. When you do replace the tire, be sure to find out what the problem is and correct it.

I would also get a front end alignment to be sure that the tire is tracking correct.

good luck with it.

Replace it before it blows out while you are driving. Outer sidewall wear is usually due to scraping against curbs. If that is the case, try to avoid doing so in the future. If you have not done that, then I would suspect the tire is defective. Either way, replace it. If the LEFT front tire is more than 2 months old, replace them BOTH, otherwise, the truck will pull to one side while driving and you will wear out the new tire much more quickly.
