When I turn on my radio, the light for the LCD will come on, and then it fades out and will not come back on until the car has been off for a few hours. Is the bulb bad or is it something else?

The radio unit has a volume/on/off knob on the left and a radio dial on the right. It is the AM/FM/FM2/Cassette model.
