Well it’s getting to be that time of the year, convertible season. What better way to enjoy the 75 degree, beautiful weather than with the top down, enjoying the world around you? Probably doing it in your new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet.

The C-Class Cabrio will be Mercedes-Benz’s latest addition to their already stunning fleet of drop-top vehicles. The Stuttgart-based company has carried over the already impressive specifications to the new topless variant. As you might expect with the long-standign reputation of Mercedes, this new car will be both sporty and luxurious. From a side glance, the car very strongly resembles its coupe cousin. With the top down, it’s enough to draw attention to yourself.

Of course the new C-Class Cabrio will have an even sportier AMG version. Dubbed the C43 Cabriolet, the car will sport an even more aggressive look thanks to new bumpers, diamond grille, and 18-inch alloy AMG wheels. As for the inside, the driver will see AMG sport pedals and a new sport steering wheel in black leather, as well as a flattened bottom section and red contrast stitching for the ultimate driver experience. As for performance, the car will include a stiffer suspension, and larger brakes in the front.

It gets cold in a lot of places, but why should you let that stop you from dropping the top? Thanks to the AIRCAP and AIRSCARF systems, the driver and passengers can enjoy the open air, even in lower temperatures. Anonymously built into the roofline, the Mercedes-exclusive AIRCAP system directs air around the cabin to keep everyone warm. Thanks to the AIRMATIC air suspension system, everyone can enjoy a comfortable driving experience. The new system is electronically controlled to minimize road noise and vibrations from the wheels. The car will also sport a new feature called “Dynamic Select” which essentially allows the driver to choose their optimal transmission performance. The operator can choose between Eco, Sport, Sport Plus, Comfort, and Individual (personalized settings) for the standard nine-speed automatic. This new transmission will be responsible for keeping up with the 241hp/273lb-ft of torque in the C300 (RWD and 4MATIC), and the 362hp/384lb-ft of torque in the C43 AMG.

Safety is key for a topless vehicle, and the C-Class doesn’t disappoint. Along with a new body shell that is stiffer and stronger while also being lighter, the C-Class Cabrio variants will include adaptive airbags for driver/passenger, airbags for knees to prevent any injuries resulting from the dash, airbags on the windows, and pelvis/stomach airbags for passengers and driver.

Of course everyone likes to enjoy their music while taking a cruise with the top down. Mercedes-Benz makes it much easier to do so with the optimal Burmeister sound system. There is also an option of a COMAND online system that gives a larger display, with a much higher screen resolution, and acts as a WIFI hotspot. To go along with this fantastic new system, Mercedes has included a wireless phone system to not only integrate with your cell phone, but act on it’s own. The system will include automatic emergency call in the event of an accident, accident recovery, and breakdown assistance. This system even allows owners to remotely monitor the status of their vehicle with information such as tire pressure, mileage, and status of the windows and doors.

Expect the C300 RWD and 4MATIC to arrive in showrooms in late summer 2016, while the C43 AMG will arrive in the fall of 2016.We don’t have pricing yet, but expect that to be unveiled closer to launch.
