Lincoln Mark LT offers a unique blend of distinctive Lincoln luxury styling with the functionality of a pickup truck, delivering outstanding payload and towing capacity. The additional level of sophistication, inherent in all Lincolns, sets it above other high-end pickups.

 2008 Lincoln Mark LT

The Mark LT’s elegant, well-appointed interior provides room for five adults in premium-soft leather front captain’s chairs and full, rear seat. Ingress and egress are made easy via four full doors.

Both 4×2 and 4×4 versions of Mark LT are available with a longer, 6.5-foot cargo bed providing an additional 10 cubic-feet of cargo capacity from the standard 5.5-foot cargo bed.

For 2008, the Lincoln Mark LT adds two new features that provide and extra level of security and convenience.

  • Rearview Camera System. Mounted in the tailgate handle bezel, the rearview camera is activated when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, giving the driver a clear view of what’s behind the vehicle. The video image is displayed in the self-dimming rearview mirror. This unique system is available as part of the Elite Package or Technology Package.
  • Standard SIRIUS® Satellite Radio. The popular entertainment feature is standard on both 4×2 and 4×4 models and comes with a free six-month subscription

Additional 2008 features include a dealer-installed PowerCode™ Remote Start System and a new exterior color, Light French Silk Clearcoat Metallic.

The Lincoln Mark LT is manufactured at Ford Motor Company’s Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, Mich.

Truck Elegance for Those Who Travel Well
Although the Mark LT is an authentic pickup, the exterior design sets it apart from other trucks by offering the refined luxury design cues common to the family of Lincoln vehicles.

The Lincoln waterfall grille provides a distinctive focal point, flowing into the new body-color front bumper valance. Chrome lower bodyside cladding adds a touch of sparkle to the profile, accented by the addition of body color door handle bezels trimmed with a chrome strap.

Chrome exterior accents continue on the front and rear bumpers, side mirrors, available running boards and the rolled tip of the tail pipe. Additional touches include the chrome Lincoln emblem mounted to the body color tailgate appliqué and chrome taillamp surrounds.

Available chrome box rails also help round out the appearance enhancements inherent to the Mark LT.

The Mark LT carries its Lincoln heritage inside with tasteful chrome Lincoln stars on the seatbacks and the console lid. Genuine ebony wood graces the upper steering wheel arc which complements the Ebony wood generously applied to the center stack and door trim panels.

A Monochrome Appearance Package is available and includes a body colored grille surround, body colored bumpers, mirror caps and chrome step bars, and 20-inch, 7-spoke chrome wheels.

Three interior color combinations are offered: Black with Ebony seats, Black with Dove Gray seats and Pebble with Light Parchment seats.

The Mark LT interior features a lavish use of premium leather on its twin front-row power-heated captain’s chairs and its 60/40 flip-up split rear bench seat. Premium leather is also generously applied to the steering wheel, center console and floor shifter, while plush carpet completes the opulence of the interior.

Standard luxury amenities abound, such as electronic automatic temperature control, an MP3-capable Audiophile sound system with 6-disc, in-dash CD player with subwoofer and overhead rail storage system and trip computer.

Available features include chrome-plated running boards, chrome box rails, bed extender, 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels and all-weather floormats.

Capability Meets Tough Luxury
The Lincoln Mark LT benefits from a fully-boxed frame, liquid-filled engine hydromounts, thick window side glass, and inset doors with double-layer seals to help limit unwanted road, tire, wind and engine noise in the cabin.

The Mark LT’s 5.4-liter engine uses a 3-valve head design to enhance power and torque and an advanced electronic throttle control system that improves power response and modulation. The engine is particularly well suited for a luxury truck due to its engineered-in refinements in sound quality. Engine noise, vibration and harshness are limited by use of a tuned intake resonator and low-restriction exhaust system.

The standard 5.4-liter, 3-valve V-8 engine produces 300 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 365 pound-feet of torque at 3,750 rpm.

Essential to meeting the driving dynamics expected of a pickup truck worthy of the Lincoln nameplate, the Mark LT is built on a stable fully boxed, hydroformed frame. The result is increased stiffness and stronger attachment points for the body and suspension for excellent handling and a quiet, composed ride.

A substantial contributor to the new Mark LT’s driving feel – plush, yet connected to the road – is a front suspension that reacts to absorb bumps but stands strong against steering forces. Both 4×2 and 4×4 models use a coil-over-shock, long-spindle double wishbone front suspension.

For increased handling and a more aggressive stance, the front track is 67.0 inches wide, which helps increase control while braking, reduce tire wear and enhance handling and steering precision.

Mark LT’s Hotchkiss-design rear suspension has been optimized with rear shock absorbers placed outboard of the frame rails – a pickup truck segment trait shared only with Ford’s iconic F-150. The rear shocks are positioned outboard to maximize their effect at reducing body lean and can be tuned for a smoother ride.

The rack-and-pinion steering system used in the Mark LT is the largest, strongest and most rugged ever used by Lincoln. The predictable, linear steering response comes from careful tuning by engineering experts to help ensure that steering effort builds naturally with steering angle. In addition to its dynamic performance, the steering system also makes for a relatively tight 46-foot turning circle.

State-of-the-art standard four-wheel disc brakes are large and powerful. A four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) are standard. EBD actively manages the brake force between the front and rear wheels, helping to reduce braking distances and maximize rear-wheel braking, particularly while towing. The system also uses sensor data to compare wheel speed more than 100 times during each rotation.

The 5.4-liter V-8 has ample low-end torque, and its sophisticated electronic throttle control is designed to provide seamless, instant response and consistent transmission shift quality at various altitudes and vehicle loads. With a maximum towing capacity of 8,900 pounds and payload capacity of 1,680 pounds, Lincoln’s Mark LT can tow anything from a horse trailer to a small yacht and carry all the gear needed to arrive in style.

Safety and Security
For safety, the Mark LT offers outstanding occupant protection with a structure designed to absorb and dissipate crash energy before it can reach the reinforced passenger compartment. Special features include Ford’s Personal Safety System®, occupant classification sensing, BeltMinder™ and SecuriLock™ anti-theft ignition system, all providing enhanced protection.
