It may have taken a few years, but Aston Martin has finally gotten around to chopping the top off its menacing V12 Vantage. For the uninitiated, the V12 Vantage was created when Aston took its smallest car, the V8 Vantage, and filled the engine bay with its massive 6.0-liter V12.

The new car will debut as a 2013 model, and as expected, all secs and details fall inline with its hard-top sibling. The V12 is producing 510 horsepower and torque sits at 470 lb ft. The boffins in Gaydon claim that the car will scoot to 100 kph (62 mph) in a rather brisk 4.5 seconds, and that you can ride the wall of noise all the way to 190 mph.

Of course, because it is missing the roof, that wall of noise will be much louder and more aggressive, so it should be good fun. Aside from the topless bit, the V12 Roadster has also been given a mildly revised front end with lower intakes, and a new rear decklid designed to provide high-speed stability. Of course the chassis and suspension has also been altered to help offset the lack of upper body structure. As a final piece of the makeover, the V12 Vantage Roadster uses plenty of carbon fier to cut weight, and if you so choose, buyers can also opt for an interior upgrade with extra carbon fiber trim pieces.

While no US pricing has been divulged, anyone in the UK market looking to grab one will need £150,000 or about $233,000.
