China’s intelligent 360-degree panorama automobile data recorder iEyelf displayed at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas from January 8 to January 11, 2016 attracted attention and received positive feedback from industry players and users for its excellent design, performance and user experience.

Nanjing-based startup Mplanet’s proprietary iEyelf has gone into mass production with the support of electronics contract manufacturer Foxconn Technology Group. iEyelf’s unique 360-degree panorama shooting functionality and independent 3G/4G communication module (which can also optionally serve as a mobile WiFi hotspot) allow users to see what is happening in and around their cars in real time by waking up the camera through a mobile app installed on their phone. The activated camera rotates to record what is taking place both inside and outside of the vehicle.

At variance with traditional automobile data recorders, iEyelf provides users with an innovative set of new features: iEyelf will automatically wake up and inform the car owner if the vehicle has been collided into by another vehicle while parked, or when pets or children locked in the vehicle call out for help, allowing the car owner to immediately respond.

In addition, iEyelf is one of the first smart in-vehicle products connected to the QQ internet-of-vehicle (IoV) open platform. With the combination of the QQ IoV cloud service and image recognition technology, users can engage in a “man-machine conversation” with iEyelf via their mobile QQ application and benefit from photo sharing, live video and illegal parking alert.

Mplanet Chief Executive Officer, Gu Jian, said, “Our founding team has a background in the IoV and automotive manufacturing industries. They have a deep understanding of the user scenario and extensive experience in related software and hardware. The team believes they will transform the car owner’s experience with an outstanding smart in-vehicle product.”

Previously, Mplanet participated in CES Asia and displayed the data recorder at the 2015 Tencent Global Partner Conference, where the product garnered significant attention and praise from industry insiders.
