Located on Woodward Avenue and stretching from downtown Detroit and Pontiac Michigan is the world’s largest one-day classic car show, the Woodward Dream Cruise. For years, this annual event has brought a plethora of iconic machines that have shaped the way the auto industry is today. Ford will be on display to showcase the classic sports and muscle that has helped the blue oval stay afloat. Not only will icons such as the original generation Mustang be on hand, but future classics such as the Focus ST will be shown off.

Taking place August 20, the annual Woodward Dream Cruise will happen rain or shine. Ford will have a massive showing that will include certified technicians who will install Mustang performance parts on the spot. Their display will be at the 9 Mile Road in Ferndale, north of the Detroit Limits and will carry the name Mustang Alley. More than 700 Ford’s, including the 2012 550 horsepower Shelby GT Mustang, Boss 302 and the original 1964 Mustang Coupe. Alongside the pony cars will be Ford’s next hot-hatch, the 2012 Focus ST. Using an all-new, 2.0 liter EcoBoost turbocharged four cylinder, the ST makes a stout 247 horsepower and is matched to a six speed manual transmission. There will also be the GT supercar and the SVT Raptor offroad trucks.

“Mustang Garage on 9 Mile Road is again open for business during the Woodward Dream Cruise. Owners of Mustangs built from 2005 to 2012 can drive in and have Ford Racing technicians install high-performance parts, including axle-back exhaust systems, short-throw shifters and suspension packages, while they wait.

Jost Capito, Ford director of Global Performance Vehicles and Motorsport Business Development, and Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer, will also be on site at Mustang Alley on Saturday to meet with visitors.”
