Ford has already proven it isn’t afraid of using new technology with its Microsoft SYNC integration technologies, but now Ford hopes to use new technologies to help sell cars. Ford now has an app for the Apple iPad called SHOWCASE. The app has many powerful features that not only allow customers to choose specific vehicles and options, it also keeps an inventory of on site vehicles so the salesperson can quickly check stock. Gone are the days of endlessly searching the aisles of a dealership lot to find the car you want.

“Waiting for the sales consultant to check the inventory or wandering the aisles of a car lot in search of just the right combination of colors and options can be a tedious and time-consuming process,” says Michelle Moody, Cross Vehicle Marketing manager for Ford. “If the weather is bad or the sun has gone down early in the winter months, venturing outside is even less appealing.

The app also has the ability to provide customers with videos and detailed information about all the models that Ford currently has for sale. If a customer needs time to think over a purchase, the information and build that they have selected can be emailed directly to them so that they have all the information they need to make a decision.

As of August 1st, 2012 program registration is open to all Ford dealers and about 200 dealerships have already jumped aboard. So if you are in the market for a new Ford, stop by your local dealer and see if SHOWCASE can make your purchase any easier.
