My odometer reading is at 112,000 miles. The Tranny fluid has never been changed by me or the the previous owner.

What would be the best thing for me to do at this stage of the cars life?

Changing the fluid now, overdue three times the recommended mileage (50,000), would it affect the performance of the viecles Tranny.

There are 2 schools of thought...1 is leave it be because you can foul it up by changing it.

2 is go for it and if it sticks a little or acts funny in just a few miles then change it again.

The reason for this is that after so many miles the cleaning agents in the fluid have given out and if you put fresh in the new detergeants will cause stuff to break loose and gunk up the tranny. If you change it then be sure to change the filter too.

112,000 mile is not a hole lot of miles, it's only a little bit twice past the recommended mileage.

just make sure you stay with the recommended fluid

atf +4 or whatever is printed on the dip stick

Well if you put new in the new detergeants will origin stuff to shatter loose and gunk up the tranny. If you change it then be certain to change the filter too.
