18yr olds out there who pay for car insurance? How much?

I have a 1995 delta 88 oldsmobile. What do you think Id most likely be paying monthly? What do you pay? Would it be cheaper to go under my fathers insurance or just go find an insurance co. else where on my own? What are the best insurance co.?(geico progressive allstatefarms )

hello! both my parents died when i was 7 so i am on my own insurance. yes it would be cheaper for u to go under your fathers but i like being on my own, its easier that way. I pay 198 a month for 9 months a yr through Erie Insurance Co. The service is amazing!! My insurance coverage is really good too. I recently got in an accident and everything was so easy and the people we fast and nice. My car had estimate and fixed one week from accident and it happened two days before thanksgiving! good luck but every other place i looked had super high rates! (and if u were wondering like my friends u dont have to live in erie for the insurance, i live in buffalo!)

It all depends on your driving record, where you live, and the vehicle type. It is always cheaper to get on your parent's insurance but I have had my own since I was 18. I am 19 years old now and have just recently got my license back from a 90day suspension. My vehicle was purchased for 15000.00 but is currently worth about 13,000.00 after depreciation. My insurance is abouit 150.00 a month and I live in Illinois. It will vary for you depending on the above factors. You can go online or call around and get rate quotes Good luck
