98 Buick Skylark Knocking Sound?

My girlfriend ran it VERY low on oil. The car stalled out, but did not seize. I changed the oil and filter. I put some piston seal stuff in, but it is still knocking. We don't have alot of extra cash right now to take it to a mechanic. ANY IDEAS??

Your laziness just cost you an engine-next time check you underhood fluids!!!!

Sounds like a connecting rod bearing has gone or is going. Could run it til it quits altogether. Other choices are a used engine from a wrecking yard DYI or get a rebuilt installed or junk it. Also could try running a heavy oil in engine say 30-50 wt. to see if that helps temporally.

One of the rod bearings is gone.Nothing you can do,only rebuild bottom end.Sorry.
