Alfa Romeo 4 door cars, why no outside door handle on rear doors?

It is a styling trick to make the car appear to be a coupe.
I had to to show my wife the rear door handle after having my 156 for 3 days!

There is. It is recessed into the window upright. Look again next time :)

You can see where you put your fingers to pull the vertical handle at the very back of the window.
