Anyone with an 02 hyundai accent?

I'm so sick of trying to replace this timing belt. I always thought of myself as a handy guy with a fair amount of knowlege of automobiles. However, it seems like one problem after another with replacing this freaking timing belt. First, I had a hard time removing the tensioner, then removing the water pump, and a super hard time, which took me all day and night to put back the spring on the tensioner and now I can't get the new timing belt back on. My new belt is the same size and same amount of teeth as the old belt. But it's just slight too small to fit back on. I wanted to double check that it wasn't anything wrong with the new belt, so I tried to put back on the old belt. But that was slightly too small. I followed the procedure for putting the belt on, also I tried to heat the belt hoping that it would stetch but it didn't, I tried to pull on it a little to get it on. I ran out of ideas. ANyone have any ideas. I really feeling like this wasn't worth the time and effort.
