ATV Winch Wiring Problems?

I had asked the question about the atv winch before and how its not working. Everyone who asnwered says i need to make sure the soloniod is grounded to frame (not plastic) and the red wire coming out of the switch must be wired to ignition. Can I wire that red wire right into the switch wires coming from the key. Theres a black and red wire that connect male and female to other wires. Can I splice that red wire before the connection and wire it there?

There are a couple of ways to do this the easiest is to run it direct from the battery using the switch as a breaker. I hooked mine up direct to the battery red to positive and black to ground. This way you wouldn't screw up the wiring harness if you was to make a mistake.
Use the switch to break the positive lead from the battery to the winch.Make sure you have a good clean ground like metal to metal scratch off the paint if need be in addition to hooking up to the negitive on the battery.

It is easy to do!
