I have a VW Jetta 2002 1.8T Gls and I want to lower it 2 inches, I have been searching about it and some people recommend H&R springs($370) and get new shocks($450), what is the best way to lower my car?
BMatzke872 what is the difference between the H&R lowering springs and the H&R coilovers that you recommend? thanx
ok so what I understand so far is that if I want to lower my jetta and if I have the money I should go with coilovers and forget about the springs?

Coilovers are kinda expensive, but you can find a used set of coilovers for around $600 on vwvortex classified usually.

You can get yourself a nice set, with low miles for a good price, the good thing about coilovers is that they allow you to go lower then springs would, you could take out the helper spring to go about 1" lower then that, and when your going to be drving in rough terrain, or when winter comes, or even if your going somewhere the roads are bad you can just raise up the car.

Coilovers are the way to go.
