Can u buy a car in the USA and ask an american friend to drive it to Canada to

deliver it, thus avoiding havin avoiding having to modify it (daytime lights etc..)

You can have your friend drive it in, but you still won't be able to register it in Canada without doing the mods and getting an inspection, and the CBSA will catch up with you anyway and charge you (or your friend) with smuggling. Just do it the legal way, its not that difficult.
