No, they didn't get caught...

that would imply that someone outside the team noticed. They sort of shot themselves in the foot by conducting internal warfare with public weapons. If they had treated Alonso with the proper respect he would never have threatened to go to Max with his email collection and no-one would ever have been the wiser.
