Dirt bike promplems?

I put my 05 crf250r in the shop about over 3 weeks ago. the crank shaft he ordered isnt in stock so he had to back order it. He'll get the crank shaft after chritmas and ill have my bike back mid januray he said. But i found a magazine that has the SAME EXACT hot rod heavy duty crank that he would of ordered. Would it be a good idea if i ordered and brang it to him? he said he would have no promblem with that but my dad thinks different
