The answer is - unknown.
The technology looks simple in the movies, but there have been no successes in developing the technology in the real world.
It could be in a few years, could be another decade or two.

No. The requirements for ground and air transportation are too different. To get something into the air, you need either a large wing or huge amounts of energy. Energy is costly, and is becoming more so.
