most manufacturing has moved to china due to low labor and manufacturing costs. americans are all up in arms about the illegal mexicans stealing our jobs (jobs that we didnt want to do in the first place for next to nothing pay) so wouldnt it be wiser to at least move manufacturing to mexico, low labor costs, it will keep the mexicans in their own country and we wont be empowering china? please if i am an idiot, no need to point it out, i was just thinking aloud really

that is a good idea. Especially with the toy recall scare that parents like me have been hearing about. If that was done it would benefit many people. South Americans would have jobs to help support their families and build their communities and the US manufacturing companies would be able to keep a closer eye on the fabrication of their products to insure quality, You aren't running for any government position anytime soon would you? lol (b/c you would have my vote ^^)

For one, I think America needs to increase manufacturing independence in as many ways as possible - any manufacturing done outside of the country is dangerous and economically unstable; best to be used only when needed.

For two, Mexicans won't stop immigrating here if we provide them with jobs paying slave-labor wages like we do China.

I just don't think it's feasible.
