I need info on buying atv?

I'm looking for an used atv that I could use to plow snow on my driveway and have some fun at the same time. First of all I dont have a lot of money to spend and second I dont know anything about atv's. So my question is do I need to buy an utility atv or the sports ones can do the job of plowing snow too.
If in the case that it needs to be an utility atv does it needs to be 4x4 or a 4x2 would make it.
Any other info that I need to know and I missed it would be helpful, Thanks

you need a 4x4 for plowing snow and it will also come in handy for other things also,the Honda rancher is about the best one on the market right now,a good used one will cost about 2 grand for a good 4 wheel drive one,they have the best ones though,when you look at one ask a lot of questions about it and inspect the boots on the axles really good,also notice the overall condition of it,that will tell you how its been treated in the past,you should be able to get a good used one in good shape,don't get in a hurry though,there's plenty of them out there for sale,right now you can be picky because buyers are wanting to sell,so take your time and negotiate on price,one that is priced at 2500.00 bucks can usually be bought for around 2 k or less,good luck with it and have a good holiday.

you could try looking at a used honda foreman or older four trax 300- 450cc motors, 4x4's and hellishly dependable.and quite a few come with accessories already, like plows, winches and better tires etc., a 2wd sport quad is just a toy no good for workin, 2wd sport/utilities can be worked but 2wd is no good for pushing snow. get a 4x4. any quad can also be played on , their all fun, most of the 4x4's aren't much slower in a straight line than a sportie and 4x4 helps in the spots the 2wd's can't even go.
