I need to repair my door lock on a 1986 oldsmobile, it is in the locked position...

...and I can't close the door . I need a drawing of how this lock operates and the best way to repair it

Get a screw driver and put it in the locked lathc on the inside of the door frame and pull it putting tension on the latch.
then pull the door knob or what ever you want to call it it should open the latch.

There is a lever that is on the door. looks like a horse shoe. When you take a screwdriver and place it on that horseshoe and pull towards the car while you hold the handle like you are opening it that should open that horseshoe like metal piece. You should be good to go. Oh BTW squirt some WD 40 in it. ( after the fix)
