indicator trouble on a fiat uno, any ideas?

when indicating to go left the indicator works fine, but if i brake at the same time the idicator slows and all the lights in the back cluster flash. any ideas?

yes i know before all the wise cracks.. it's an old car but we were given it.

You may need to change the indicator stalk assembly. It's a pretty easy job (DIY) and not too expensive.
