Is Dumping The Car To Save Money Too Extreme?

If you live in a large metropolis, odds are the idea of dumping the car to save money has popped into your mind. If you are getting behind on insurance or car payments, and taking out payday loans, no credit check, for this required expense, your other option might be to forgo ownership of a car all together. Payday loans and credit cards should be used for temporary, emergency expenses, not to supplement income for expenses we know are going to be due every month. Next to our rent or mortgage expenses, car expenses represent the next biggest monthly expense that has to be budgeted. Or, does it? It may be possible to save hundreds a month, even thousands a year, simply by making the choice to go car-less. If this is enough to increase your lifestyle in other manners, it might be not only a good financial choice, but an environmentally friendly choice to make too.

It Is Possible!

well if public transit can hold you afloat without being reliant on your own vehicle, it is an awesome way to save money. Though i find that if you are not in a large city, its usually a good idea to have your own car...

The car-free lifestyle is far superior. There are so many advantages: cost savings, reduced environmental impact, increased freedom, etc. This is one of the reasons we can afford to do our RTW trip.
