Life Expectancy of Hyundai Elantra?

Any one have experiences with this car? I own one with appx 70k on it and am wondering what the life expectancy of this vehicle is. Any major maintainence issues?

well i don't care for the brand BUT the engines are good for well over 2 hundred thousand if maintained since Hyundai has a excellent engine that is made by Mitsubishi not Hyundai the only thing the engines have problems with is timing belts they are good for 60 -70 thousand miles if yours has not been changed that would be 1 thing i would do or have done SOON because Mitsubishi engines like the 1.6L,1.8L,and 2.0L overhead cam engines self destruct when the belt jumps or breaks the pistons keep moving and the camshaft/s stop leaving some valves open ruining your valves and in some cases the whole engine is ruined this is the only major thing that happens with the engine.

the cars are not that bad they are like everyother car somethings will wear and need to be replaced that is a given but are fairly cheep to replace as far as cars parts go so u should get lots more life out of your car if its maintained

I really think it would depend on how you maintain your car, has it been well looked after?
My girlfriend has a Nov 2004 model and it's only done 32,000km's. She recently got it serviced and the mechanic said "these are a great car".
I would suggest having it regularly serviced and the oil changed and it should last you for sometime yet, well above 100,000km's.
