Mechanics, please help, want to buy second hand car?

I want to buy a not too expensive second hand car and have found a 1995 VW Golf. But it has a little bit of corrosion on the axle casing, other wise it seems a good car, is this, or could this be a problem?

Ha a True Mechanic will allways say there is something wrong with your Car even if there is not....They are Fraudsters all of em...And i don't care what anyone says its true.....Oh OK mabe i might be a bit Harsh OK..Not all of them Most of them then ...OK...
