my 98 Ford Explorer dies when I let off the gas.?

I went to start my truck.. it tries to turn over.. but wont. If I push on the gas it will start and stay running a long as I keep my foot on the gas. When I let off it idles down then dies. I recently changed the battery, and the alternator. I also put in a fuel injector cleaner last night. I dont recall when the fuel filter was last changed,, but it has been at least 3 years ago. Could this be my problem?

Sounds to me that the fuel pump is failing.. All of your idle settings and engine sensors are controlled by the PCM. You need to have the fuel pressure checked. Newer Fuel injected vehicles have over 70 psi of fuel pressure in the lines. If it falls to 50 or so it will defintily affect the car..
