I can still hear the motor running but wont pull down, it could be frozen but too cold to unfreeze it , im a girl who no's nothing about cars so plz keep it simple .
My first thought was the motor is going out and doesn't have the power to pull the lid down. If that isnt the case maybe the alignment is out and its not connecting the latch to the mechanism that closes. There are a number of reasons why it won't. Have you tried manually pushing the lid down to see if it will go down?
