...this inexpensively? I was driving the the other day in my VW Multivan T4 (EuroSpec) in 5th gear when a grinding sound came. I was not sure what it was so I turned off the engine and went to the side of the road.
I took it too a local VW dealer and they said the Timing Belt, and the Fan Belt were some how broken. I don't understand how; the motor is Diesel and relativley new. Approximatly 72,000 KM (Around 45,000 Miles).
The Volkswagen Dealer said that it would be 1,500 EURO'S to fix. I was very surpried because of the price, and the motor is not very old. (2002) They said that I was lucky that I hadn't driven far because I could have wrecked the engine! Is this true?
Is there any way that I can fix this problem cheaper?
