on vauxhall corsa the battery is so difficult to get out any suggestions?

the battery is held down by plastic strip and even with this removed cant move the battery to get it out

There'll be a clamp at the bottom - unbolt this & you're away.

Have a look at the base on which the battery sits, it may have metal guides that the battery slides into. In that case you have to remove the strap and then slide out the battery.

Failing that a large sledge hammer would move it!
