My husband's name is the only one listed in the car insurance. I recently just got my driver's license, should I include my name in the insurance? What's the advantage or disadvantage of doing that? Would our insurance payment increase?
Often times insurance companies will only list the *primary* policy holder on the actual insurance card. You can always call to confirm that you are also a covered driver on the policy.
Also...there is a marriage discount on car insurance policies so it would definitely benefit you to be listed a covered driver.
P.S. My insurance card only shows my name but both me and hubby are on the policy. It doesnt matter whose name is on the card as long as you are attached to the policy account number.
