The automatic trunk latch on my 1991 Cadillac De vill opens on its own-can you help?

Those latches are electrical, and the switch in the cab triggers a solenoid in the trunk to un-lock the lock. Could be a short, could be a faulty solenoid. You need a multimeter and some basic electrical know how to trouble shoot it. Not hard, just kinda time consuming. A quick fix, is to pull the fuse for the trunk. You just have to use the key to open the trunk. A PITA, but it wont fly open going down the interstate!
