Vauxhall Astra! i've got one, (M reg) i got it two years ago and it has never had anything wrong with it. they are generally very reliable cars. i have a 1.4 astra merit , its petrol consumption is also very good, i only put £20 in per week, thats driving approx. 5miles to work and 5miles back, plus social ventures. it's pretty nippy aswell, i drive it like a rally car everyone's very surprised it has lasted me this long!

i do like the fiat punto but ive heard Fiat cars are pants! my boyfriend got one and everything what could go wrong went wrong!i

i think rovers last a long time, my stepdad had his for 12 years and i don't rmember him saying anything ever went wrong with it, but personally they come across as old man's cars.

We've had an old Rover for ages and it's never let us down, it's got a Honda engine.
My daughter had a Vauxhall Corsa and hated it, never had a Fiat , so can't comment on that.
The Rovers British (well most of it is) and apparently the older one's are becoming collectors pieces. I know they're very popular in France.
What a shame that Rover shut down, I always liked them.
