Seventy five years ago, a name was put into place that would change the automotive industry in a big way. After the Chrysler Parts Corporation’s Activities Council met in Highland Park, Michigan in 1937, the word “Mopar” was slapped on the side of some company-backed antifreeze. Fast forward to today and those five little letters mean big, all-out performance and for the first time in a long time, the name has become truly global.

“The mission at Mopar is to fully support all of our brands by providing every single one of our customers with an exceptional after-sales experience,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar. In the early 1960s, the Mopar name really started to make strides. Officially the parts and performance division, the outfit started pumping out some of the most devious and potent muscle cars ever conceived. If it wasn’t for those gearheads, the Max Wedge and HEMI wouldn’t have torn ruts in America’s concrete. Today, Mopar serves more than 120 countries with more than 500,000 parts and accessories. Available for purchase are such items as in-vehicle Wi-Fi systems, fuel filters and even 800 horsepower, 512 cubic inch V10 engines. Happy Birthday Mopar!
