I have received a few emails regarding a starting issue with Infiniti G35 that is common with cars that have a Viper 791XV Responder Alarm Paging System. I am listing a few troubleshooting tips in case your car refuses to start and you are not sure what to do.

History:

All Infiniti G35 cars have a fuselink system right at the battery connector. It has four fuses right next to each other and also a main fuse. Most of the time when you try to remote start a car using Viper Alarm or any other system, it can burn that fuse. In my case, I never paid attention to this little detail and took my car to Nalley Infiniti in Atlanta, Georgia. After they kept my car for 2 weeks, I received a call from Rich Huffman, Service Rep, that they cannot work on my car any more since I have an aftermarket Security System. I couldn't stop laughing at this comment. I got my car towed to my house and started looking at the Nissan service manual. After going through the electronic diagrams a few times I decided to troubleshoot the issue.

 Symptoms:

Car will not start, Radio has no power, Climate control works, Speedometer Illumination doesn't work, Interior Lights work.

Troubleshooting:

First and most important step is to look at the FUSE LINK right next to the positive terminal of the battery. It has ONE MAIN fuse and FOUR other fuses. I am 99% sure this will solve your problem. If these fuses are good then go ahead and check the fuses in the driver's side kick panel. This is nothing but a fuse issue.
