Lexus has been really exploring the world of interesting and exciting design ideas over the last year. First we had the car made of cardboard, and we had the wild hoverboard design project, but now Lexus has one-upped themselves yet again with this new video for the NX. The video is titled Lexus on Ice, and the Japanese company has managed to create a set of wheels and tires completely from blocks of ice, and then drove on them.

Yeah, Lexus made a full set of rolling gear from ice, and then drove the NX around on those round slabs of frozen water. As dramatic as that sounds, some fantastic use of lighting, and a few bright blue LEDs behind the wheels create some imagery that is truly unique and inspired.

Lexus said it took three months of research and testing to get this sorted out. The car was also super-cooled by staying in a locked freezer for five days at -22°F. The video is worth the two minutes of your time, I promise.
