Volkswagen has announced a special pre-order program for 2012 model vehicles including the next generation Beetle. Based on an online reservation process, the system is designed to allow buyers to be first in line to get their hands on special models. “With the introduction of Volkswagen’s Vehicle Pre-Order program, we are able to offer enthusiastic drivers an exclusive opportunity to connect with our vehicles,” said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.

To commemorate the launch of the program and the start of the all-new Beetle, Volkswagen has built a limited production special edition Turbo model. The 2012 Beetle Black Turbo launch edition starts at $24,950 and will be limited to 600 units. Using the 200 horsepower, 207 lb-ft of torque 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder matched to VW’s DSG dual-clutch automated manual, the Black Turbo will be covered in a special 911 GT3 like war paint. Collectors can go to www.VW.com/preorder to begin the process in order to own a piece of Volkswagen history.
