Back to the Future Day happened this week, and I decided the best way for AutoTalk.com to celebrate it on Speed Build Saturday was with a speed build of the Lego DeLorean time machine kit!

Lego’s Ideas series lets at-home creators submit idea that can turn into commercial products. There have been lots of interesting kits like a Doctor Who set, and Wall-E from Pixar’s beloved film of the same name. They also have created some great movie icons like the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, and Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine from “Back to the Future.”

Kit #21103 is that DeLorean, and it’s a wonderful kit for fans of cars and the movie franchise alike. It comes with 401 pieces, and it includes minifigures of both Marty McFly and Doc Brown. The kit has also been created in such a way that you can create your favorite version of the DeLorean from any of the three films. From the basic car in the first movie, to the flying model in the second, or even the wild part-covered beast that was in the third film.

Watch this kit get put together in record time, thanks to the magic of time-lapse. IF you want to grab a cool kit like this one, you are going to have to go out and start searching the internet. Lego retired the kit, and no longer sell it through official channels.
