Subaru December U.S. Sales Fall on Drop in Demand for Tribeca Vehicles

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) — Subaru of America Inc. said Wednesday its December U.S. sales fell on a drop in demand for its Tribeca models.

Subaru sold 10,997 vehicles in December, down 4.8 percent from 11,548 in the year-ago period.

Adjusted for one fewer sales day in this December compared with last, Subaru sales fell 1.1 percent.

Sales of the automaker's Legacy models rose 7.7 percent to 9,021 vehicles, while Tribeca sales dropped 42 percent to 1,582.

For the full-year 2006, Subaru sales fell 0.5 percent to 108,297 vehicles from 108,824.

Adjusted for one fewer selling day in this year than in 2005, Subaru sales edged down 0.16 percent.
