When it comes to the world of classic cars and motorcycles, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este carries much weight and tradition. The historic gathering on the banks of Lake Como is always punctuated by some of the most beautiful coachbuilt automobiles in the world, and this year is no different.

BMW and Italian design firm Zagato have collaborated to bring you this piece of motoring beauty you see before you. This is the BMW Zagato Coupe. A combination of artistic and historical touches that blend both brands together help create a cohesive collaboration that has a character all its own. The long hood is punctuated by a traditional BMW kidney grille, but the grille mesh is created in a Zagato “Z” pattern. The Double-bubble roof is a Zagato signature while the Kamm-tail rear end is a design trademark shared by both companies. It may not be old, but it is instantly classic.

No information regarding the running gear has been provided, but based on shape and proportion, it would be a safe bet to assume there is a Z4 under all that sexy sheet metal.

Like many concept and show cars, there is no current talk of production, so be sure to check the gallery of high-resolution photos below, because this may be the closest you ever manage to get to this magnificent machine.
