The all-new Nissan GTR LM NISMO is a very unique Le Mans racer, and not because of any special hybrid technology system or advanced construction work. Rather, it is unique because it is the very first top-level prototype car to use front-wheel drive. Rather than the more common mid-engine RWD setup like those found on today’s modern supercars, the Nissan GTR LM NISMO will have more in common with a basic hatchback like the Nissan Versa or Volkswagen Golf. Nissan seems to think that by bucking decades of racing trends, they may be pointing the way to a faster future. From packaging, aerodynamics, weight distribution and even visual proportions, Nissan thinks the new GTR LM NISMO will move the sport of racing forwards.
