In 1972, Audi rolled off its assembly line their first midsize model: the 80. Since then, the car has evolved in some way or another into the current A4. For those almost 40 years, the midsize Audis have been the company’s heart and not too long ago, the 10 millionth one found its way its new owner. The milestone was made possible by a Misano Red supercharged, 333 horsepower V6 S4 and the Ingolstadt assembly plant which is home to numerous A4 models.

“Thanks to its sophisticated technology and excellent quality, the Audi A4 is our bestseller – winning over customers in every market since it was launched. With our strong team and our effective Audi production system, we will continue writing this success story, especially as a modified version of the Audi A4 will soon be launched,” said Frank Dreves, Board Member for Production at AUDI AG. “Ten million midsize vehicles is an achievement which makes us thrilled and proud.”

The 80 held onto its production run until 1995. Since then, the A4 has taken over and is now currently in its fourth generation. Available in sedan, Avant wagon, raised Allroad quattro and hot-rod S trim, the A4 is truly multi-talented and should hit more milestones for years on end.
