A few months ago the world was introduced to the BMW Zagato Coupe at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the banks of Lake Como, but that hard top was only the start. BMW and Zagato have now created a roadster version of the sleek coupe and presented it to the world at Pebble Beach.

The cars share much in their design, with minor alterations to keep the profile and sculpting of the roadster looking as svelte as its tin-top sibling.

Perhaps on of the most amazing things is that the roadster went from design to completion is six short weeks.

“We set ourselves the challenge of preparing the car in time for the renowned Pebble Beach Concours” explains van Hooydonk, “It was only with the expertise of both companies in the manufacture of high-end one-off cars and another display of outstanding teamwork that we were able to finish the car on schedule.”

Just like the roadster on which it was based, neither BMW nor Zagato have released any information regarding chassis or drivetrain specifications. Again, we would suspect Z4 running gear.
