Yesterday we brought you the terrible news about the sinkhole that developed under the Skydome at the National Corvette Museum that swallowed eight cars. Today we are able to share some good news, General Motors has announced that they will personally oversee the repair and restoration of every car that was damaged in the incedent.

At a press conference yesterday, the new GM Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Jeff Lamarche made the announcement. On top of GM handling the restoration, Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design will be overseeing the project himself.

Finally the National Corvette Museum has issued a statement on their Facebook wall that all the other cars have finally been removed from the exhibit to prevent any further damage. If there is to be another collapse, the worst thing that can happen is the already damaged cars become more so.

The National Corvette Museum is independently owned, and supported solely by charitable donations. If you wish to donate, the Museum is currently accepting donations on its website to assist in refurbishing the facility.
